Lai Man-wai (1893-1953) had been a film and stage pioneer in Hong Kong and a leading reformist for the Chinese cinema, using film as a medium to advance social well-being, and to enhance art and culture. In this year of his 110th birthday anniversary, Hong Kong Film archive is organising a series of activities from mid-September through mid-November in celebration of his contributions.
